Oxygen percent saturation

PTCA Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty Sao2 Arterial oxygen percent saturation... [Pg.1557]

Depth profiles of (a) salinity (%o), (b) dissolved oxygen (ml /L), and (c) percent saturation of dissolved oxygen in the Southeastern Atlantic Ocean (9°30 W 11°20 S). Samples were collected in March 1994. Dotted lines represent the curves generated by the one-dimensional advection-diffusion model (see text for details). The values of Dz, Vz, and J are the ones that best fit the data. Data are from Java Ocean Atlas (http /odf.ucsd.edu/joa). Values of percent saturation of oxygen less than 100 reflect the effects of aerobic respiration. Values greater than 100 indicate a net input, such as from photosynthesis. (See companion website for color version.)... [Pg.100]

Annual percent saturation of dissolved oxygen in (a) surface waters (Om) and (b) 50 m water depth. Source-. From Garcia, FI. E., et al. (2006). World Ocean Atlas 2005, Volume 3 Dissolved Oxygen, Apparent Oxygen Utilization, and Oxygen Saturation. NOAA Atlas NESDIS 63, U.S. Government Printing Office, p. 342. [Pg.155]

The difference in the behavior of hemoglobins may be shown graphically in another way by plotting percent saturation with oxygen against p02, as is shown in Figure 7.6b. Mathematically, this plot may be represented by the equation... [Pg.163]

The oxygen affinity is reduced (p50 is 70 torr, and the arterial blood is only 70 percent saturated). [Pg.524]

Why, from the physiological point of view, is it useful for the partial pressure of oxygen for 50-percent saturation of myglobin to be smaller than that of hemoglobin (See Figure 15-12.)... [Pg.540]

C Q2 is the dissolved oxygen concentration in equilibrium with the oxygen in the air supply at the operating pressure and temperature of the system. Since the dissolved oxygen concentration is measured as percent of saturation. DO (%), the above equation can be rewritten as... [Pg.342]

The P02 of blood is the major factor determining the amount of oxygen chemically combined with hemoglobin, or the percent of hemoglobin saturation. The relationship between these two variables is illustrated graphically by the oxyhemoglobin dissociation curve (see Figure 17.6). This relationship is not... [Pg.264]

Commercial grades of HR (butyl rubber) are prepared by copolymerising small amounts of isoprene with polyisobutylene. The isoprene content of the copolymer is normally quoted as the mole percent unsaturation , and it influences the rate of cure with sulphur, and the resistance of the copolymer to attack by oxygen, ozone and UV light. The polyisobutylene, being saturated, however, naturally confers on the polymer an increased level of resistance to these agencies when compared to natural rubber. Commercial butyl rubbers typically contain 0.5-3.0% mole unsaturation. [Pg.95]

Water Dew Point For flue gas, the water dew point is that temperature at which the actual water vapor pressure equals the water saturation vapor pressure. Cooling the flue gas below this temperature will result in the formation of liquid water [or ice, below 273 K (0°C)]. For example, burning natural gas with 3 percent excess oxygen (15 percent excess air), the flue gas water dew point would be (Fig. 24-57) 330K(56.7°C). [Pg.52]

They have all the rubberiness of the ethylene/propylene (EPR) rubber matrix, and the crystalline polypropylene (PP) domains hold them together. As saturated elastomers, they have natural resistance to oxygen and ozone aging. They are the second largest class of thermoplastic elastomers, 25 percent of the total market, used mainly in mechanical rubber parts. [Pg.654]
