Overages

Urea and melamine adhesives represent products of very mature and overaged technologies. Essentially, they are simple reaction products of urea or melamine with formaldehyde they may be Hquids or powders. Liquids are converted to dry powders by "spray drying." Melamine-urea combinations generally are spray-dried powders of co-reacted Hquid melamine and area-formaldehyde resias.

The purpose of stability testing is to assess the effects of temperature, humidity, light, and other environmental factors on the quality of a drug substance or product. The data produced are used to establish storage conditions, retest periods, shelf loss, and to justify overages included in products for stability reasons. Any overages will need to be declared, discussed, and justified. Reprocessing proposals will need to be justified. 

Upper and lower acceptance limits are expected for all ingredients—these would normally be nominal 5% for active ingredients and nominal 10% for excipients, with wider ranges being individually justified. Where factorization is used, the details should be included, together with information on total mass adjustment if necessary. Overages need to be stated and justified in the development pharmaceutics section. 

A few products have declared overages of active ingredient, which have been justified. In the case of some other product types, the initial inclusion of overages and their subsequent removal is mentioned. 

Therefore, the cocatalyst is expended by the building of Hf-CH3- and A1-CH2-Al-units and has to be used in a big overage to assure a high polymerization activity.
