Overages

Urea and melamine adhesives represent products of very mature and overaged technologies. Essentially, they are simple reaction products of urea or melamine with formaldehyde they may be Hquids or powders. Liquids are converted to dry powders by "spray drying." Melamine-urea combinations generally are spray-dried powders of co-reacted Hquid melamine and area-formaldehyde resias. [Pg.325]

Furnishes overage particle diameter but no size distribution Size distribution may be obtoined by special colibrotion. [Pg.1581]

Aluminium and magnesium melt at just over 900 K. Room temperature is 0.3 T and 100°C is 0.4 T, . Substantial diffusion can take place in these alloys if they are used for long periods at temperatures approaching 80-100°C. Several processes can occur to reduce the yield strength loss of solutes from supersaturated solid solution, overageing of precipitates and recrystallisation of cold-worked microstructures. [Pg.111]

The Telated alloy system, Al-Zn-Mg-Cn is also well documented " Overageing is reported to be beneficial since modification of the grain boundary precipitate aspect ratio occurs. ... [Pg.678]

The importance of grain shape and the orientation of the applied stress to the short transverse direction has already been pointed out. Overageing also generally lowers strength and stress-corrosion susceptibility. Both the design and manufacture of components are important. Quenched components often have high internal tensile stresses and subsequent machining of such... [Pg.1277]

Swiss case The following means were found 20.32, 20.43, 20.34, 20.60, 20.35, 20.36, 20.45, 20.40, 20.30, and 20.31. The number of tubes with fill weights below the -5% limit was 4, 1, 0, 0, 4, 1, 3, 3, 3, and 3, for a total of 22, and none below the -12.5% one. Twenty-two tubes out of 500 tested correspond to 4.4%. Since the limit is 5% failures, or 2.5 per 50, fully six out of 10IPC inspection runs at u = 50 each did not comply. At a total batch size of 3000 units, eventually 1 /6 of all packages were tested. Evidently, unless the filling overage is further increased, a sampling rate of well above 10% is necessary to exclude these stochastic effects, and so the 10 inspections were combined into one test of n = 500. [Pg.242]

If the authorities request an overage-free product, for an SL of 90% an expiration date of 18 months results (this would be a pain for the Logistics and Marketing Departments because... [Pg.247]

The purpose of stability testing is to assess the effects of temperature, humidity, light, and other environmental factors on the quality of a drug substance or product. The data produced are used to establish storage conditions, retest periods, shelf loss, and to justify overages included in products for stability reasons. The most useful equation relating temperature and reaction rate is the Arrhenius equation. This equation (27) may be integrated and rewritten as Eqs. (31) and (32). [Pg.158]

With respect to development pharmaceutics data, the requirements stated in Directive 75/318/EEC (as amended) are included in the Annex to that document at Part 2 A 4 (page 20 of the Rules Governing Medicinal Products in the European Union, Volume 1, Pharmaceutical Legislation Medicinal Products for Human Use). With respect to the general requirement for pharmaceutical products this states 4.1 An explanation should be provided with regard to the choice of composition, constituents and container and the intended function of the excipients in the finished product. This explanation shall be supported by scientific data on development pharmaceutics. The overage, with justification thereof, should be stated. This, then, is the legal requirement. Needless to say, there is a... [Pg.646]

A statement of any overages present in the product and a justification for them. [Pg.647]

Any overages will need to be declared, discussed, and justified. Reprocessing proposals will need to be justified. [Pg.648]

Upper and lower acceptance limits are expected for all ingredients—these would normally be nominal 5% for active ingredients and nominal 10% for excipients, with wider ranges being individually justified. Where factorization is used, the details should be included, together with information on total mass adjustment if necessary. Overages need to be stated and justified in the development pharmaceutics section. [Pg.659]

A few products have declared overages of active ingredient, which have been justified. In the case of some other product types, the initial inclusion of overages and their subsequent removal is mentioned. [Pg.663]

Therefore, the cocatalyst is expended by the building of Hf-CH3- and A1-CH2-Al-units and has to be used in a big overage to assure a high polymerization activity. [Pg.55]

An advantage of borate activation is that the boron-containing substances are used in a 1 1 proportion, in contrast to MAO, which is used in overage. Landis was able to show with the help of kinetic research that all centers are activated in the case of borate activation, whereas in activation with MAO only a fraction exists in the active form [36],... [Pg.56]
