Various other strategies for investigating biodistributions of metallodrugs are being developed by different groups. 

These studies (Figure 9), using NMR studies of 31P and other nuclei, have developed a detailed picture of the reactions of auranofin and its metabolites in blood. They demonstrate the applicability of NMR to elucidating metallodrug pharmacology and reactivity.
