Oscillations effect

Produced process models can be used for the design of measuring devices based on electromagnetic oscillation effect in the first case and based on charged particle lodging area definition in second. The equations decribing the motions in thermoelectric field have the following form ... [Pg.153]

Abstract For the case of small matter effects V perturbation theory using e = 2V E/ Am2 as the expansion parameter. We derive simple and physically transparent formulas for the oscillation probabilities in the lowest order in e which are valid for an arbitrary density profile. They can be applied for the solar and supernova neutrinos propagating in matter of the Earth. Using these formulas we study features of averaging of the oscillation effects over the neutrino energy. Sensitivity of these effects to remote (from a detector), d > PE/AE, structures of the density profile is suppressed. [Pg.405]

The formulas have very simple structure which allows us to use them efficiently for analysis of various phenomena. In particular, the effect of averaging over the neutrino energy can be easily traced. Averaging reduces sensitivity of the oscillation effects observed at the detector to remote structures of density profile. [Pg.411]

With the finite-elements method the discretisation is more flexible, although, as with the finite-differences method, numeric dispersion and oscillation effects can... [Pg.64]

Numerical dispersion or oscillation effects can occur as accidental source of error when using finite differences and finite element methods while modeling mass transport. Utilizing the criteria of numerical stability (Grid-Peclet number or Courant number) or the random walk procedure, these errors can be either reduced or even eliminated. [Pg.80]

As will be seen below, the kernel y(f) decreases on a characteristic time of the order of mf. 1, the angular frequency ooc characterizing the bandwidth of the bath oscillators effectively coupled to the particle. The quantity y(t — t,) is thus negligible if (i)c(t - U) 1. Mathematically, this condition can be realized at any time t by referring the initial time f, to -oo. Then, the initial particle position becomes irrelevant in Eq. (10), which takes the form of the generalized Langevin equation, namely,... [Pg.267]

From the beginning of the 1930s, studies on a melt treatment by elastic oscillations were carried out in three main directions (1) the study of an effect of elastic oscillations of various frequencies with the aim to establish a mechanism of nucleation and growth of solidification nuclei in supercooled liquids, i.e. melts and solutions (2) the study of structure and properties of metals and alloys subjected to low-frequency vibration and (3) the study of an ultrasonic oscillation effect on molten metals. Significant research in this area was performed in the 1950s by Danilov, Kapustin, Polotskii, Sirota, and their associates on solidification of organic substances and a number of metals in ultrasonic field. [Pg.103]

This can be illustrated by oscillations effected by permanganate, where in acid solution reaction due to Mn + is usually rate-controlling and one-electron reactions appear only in strong alkali (1). Reactions wdth aldehydes, ketones, and phenols are preferentially one-electron processes, and oxidations of olefins preferentially two-electron processes. The formation of complex ions can be used to block one-electron processes and so produce negative catalysis. [Pg.377]

AE(t) vibrational motions an error is introduced at each oscillation of the atom pairs. These errors, which accumulate on the vibrational period to OQi) (as Euler s method is first order), build at each oscillation, effectively heating the molecule (it would eventually burst apart). [Pg.120]

This systematic wave, shown in FIGURE 5.9, is clearly not the kind of behavior that is commonly observed in a yield curve and should therefore not be modeled into the curve. Furthermore, there is no unique solution at this stage. An infinite number of values can be assigned to bo and b and therefore an infinite number of solutions can be obtained (most of which exhibit the depicted oscillation effect). So this is still not what we seek. [Pg.105]

Note. Chloroform is another exception to the 3000 cm rule for differentiating C—H stretching modes. In this case the substitution of three electronegative groups directly on to the carbon atom that is part of the C H oscillator effectively shifts the hybridization of the carbon from sp toward sp. ... [Pg.57]

In this case similar patterns are found for both the heterocyclic five- and six-membered rings compared to the carbocyclic benzene system. The number of adjacent C—H oscillators effectively determines the position of the all-in-phase out-of-plane bend location in the spectral region. Thus we find that ... [Pg.131]
