Tran orm-based or long-range strategies The retrosynthetic analysis is directed toward the application of powerful synthesis transforms. Functional groups are introduced into the target compound in order to establish the retion of a certain goal transform (e.g., the transform for the Diels-Alder reaction, Robinson annulation, Birch reduction, halolactonization, etc.). [Pg.575]

Some systems converge poorly, particularly those with multiple bonds or weak interactions between open-shell systems. HyperChem includes two convergence accelerators. One is the default con verge rice accelerator, effective in speed in g up ri orm ally... [Pg.47]

Coordin ates of atom s can he set by n orm al translation orrotation of HyperCh cm molecules, fo set initial velocities, however, it is necessary to edit th e H l. file explicitly. The tin it o f velocity in the HIN file is. An gstrom s/picosecon d.. Areact.hin file and a script react.scr are in eluded with HyperChem to illustrate one simple reacting trajectory. In order to have these initial velocities used in a trajectory the Restart check box of the Molecular Dynamics Option s dialog box must he checked. If it is n ot, the in itial velocities in the HIN file will be ignored and a re-equilibration to the tern peratiire f of th e Molecular Dyn am ics Option s dialog box will occur. This destroys any imposed initial conditions on the molecular dynamics trajectory. [Pg.329]

The Pd-catalyzed hydrogenoiysis of acyl chlorides with hydrogen to give aldehydes is called the Rosenmund reduction. Rosenmund reduction catalyzed by supported Pd is explained by the formation of an acylpalladium complex and its hydrogenolysis[744]. Aldehydes can be obtained using other hydrides. For example, the Pd-catalyzed reaction of acyl halides with tin hydride gives aldehydes[745]. This is the tin Form of Rosenmund reduction. Aldehydes are i ormed by the reaction of the thio esters 873 with hydrosilanes[746,747]. [Pg.257]

Adipic acid is shipped in quantities ranging from 22.7 kg (50-lb bags) to 90.9 t (200,000-lb hopper cars). Upon long standing, the soHd material tends to cake, dependent on such factors as initial particle size and moisture content. Shipping data in the United States are "Adipic Acid," DOT-ID ALT 9077, DOT Hazard Class ORM-E. It is regulated only in packages of 2.3 t (5,000 lb) or more (hopper cars and pressure-differential cars and tmcks) (157). [Pg.245]

ORM-C—A material which has other inherent characteristics not desribed as an ORM-A or ORM-B but which make it unsuitable for shipment, unless properly identified and prepared for transportation. Each ORM-C materials specifically named in Sec. 172.101. (Sec. 173.500 (a)(4))... [Pg.12]

Corrosion Rate—the rate at which corrosion occurs. It is usually reported in units of inches of penetration per year (ipy), mils of penetration per year (mpy), milligrams of weight loss per square decimeter per day (mdd) microns per year Orm/yr), or millimeters per year (mmpy). Note that 1/am = 0.0395 mils. [Pg.47]

Quite a number of multizone airflow models have been developed and are available. An overview of available codes, physical models applied, and necessary input parameters is given in Orme. - An intermodel comparison of five models can be found in Allard. Four typical and widely used codes are presented below. [Pg.1089]
