Visibility, orders

Possible to observe high-order visible and UV-spectra. [Pg.368]

There are many aspects which effects customer service. Some of them are directiy influenced by the structure of the distribution network [3] response time, product variety, product availability, customer experience, time to market, order visibility, and retumability. These factors, as explained below, affect supply chain network design decisions. [Pg.6]

Order visibility is the track of orders from placement to delivery. Order visi-bihty is very important for convenience of a firm. It needs a good information infrastructure. DHL and similar firms have tracking options. Order visibility saves labor hours for a firm. Integration of supplier and manufacturer is an important issue in order visibility. [Pg.6]

Improve customer service through increased order fill rate, order visibility, on time delivery. [Pg.94]

In order to preserve the relevant role behavior, we need to ensure that in the refined component behavior all timed safety properties and all untimed liveness properties are preserved. This would imply that no deadlines of the original role automata are violated while still all events of the original automata are (in the correct order) visible within the original time interval. If both of these properties are preserved, we say that the refined component behavior is role conform. In the following, we give a sketch of a proof for role conform component behavior. A detailed proof is discussed in [22]. [Pg.66]

Transportation systems, warehousing and distribution considerations, and inventory management reach very sophisticated levels in the model, as order visibility — the ability to view and track shipments, make delivery promises, and manage inventories through an electronic system — becomes a reality. Important channel partners and the providers responsible for outbound logistics are key users of this system. [Pg.78]

Response time is the amount of time it takes for a customer to receive an order. Pmduct variety is the number of different products or configurations that are offered by the distribution netwoik. Pmduct availability is the probability of having a product in stock when a customer order arrives. Customer experience includes the ease with which customers can place and recdve orders and the extent to which this experience is customized. It also includes purely experiential aspects, such as the possibihty of getting a cup of coffee and the value that the sales staff provides. Time to market is the time it takes to bring a new product to the market. Order visibility is the ability of custoners to track their wders from placement to delivery. Retumability is the ease with which a customer can return unsatisfactory merchandise and the ability of the network to handle such returns. [Pg.71]

Order visibility is important in the context of manufacturer storage, because two stages in the supply chain are involved in every customer order. Failure to provide this capability is likely to have a significant negative effect on customer satisfaction. Order tracking, however, becomes harder to implement in a drop-ship system because it requires complete integration of information systems at both the retailer and the manufacturer. [Pg.76]

Order visibility More difficult but also more important from a customer service perspective. [Pg.77]

Order visibility Easier than manufacturer storage. [Pg.80]

Order visibility Less of an issue and easier to implement than manufacturer storage or distributor storage with package carrier delivery. [Pg.82]

Order visibility Trivial for in-store orders. Difficult, but essential, for online and phone orders. [Pg.85]

ORDER VISIBILITY The Internet makes it possible to provide visibility of order status. From a customer s perspective, it is crucial to provide this visibility because an online order has no physical equivalent to a customer shopping for an item at a retail store. [Pg.88]
