Orchestrating Meetings

Although the Byzantine system of orphan care obviously could not guarantee happy childhoods and stable environments for all the orphans of the empire, it did offer a remarkably varied approach to the problem of children who had lost their parents. Clearly, this system did not emerge at once as a result of a carefully thought-out plan orchestrated either by the imperial government or by the Orthodox Church. Rather, it had evolved over many centuries to meet needs as they arose.

A. Seek an opportunity to orchestrate a meeting. Possibilities include an ad hoc committee formed by a student group or a special project in your office. Facilitate the planning, conduct, and follow-up of the meeting following the applicable tips presented in this chapter. 

The group should have no more than 25 members. If your departments are larger than 25 members, split up the groups into appropriate sections so that no more than 25 people attend these meetings. Then a well-orchestrated fireside chat is in order. Top company officials should not only be present when these meetings take place, but they should also participate during the meetings.
