Opening action

Nicorandil and several other investigational antianginal agents appear to combine the activity of nitric oxide release with potassium channel-opening action, thus providing an additional mechanism for causing vasodilation.

To achieve, however, the adjustable reseat pressure required by the codes, a nozzle ring is added in the design, as shown in Figure 5.3. The nozzle ring, the nozzle and disc holder form the so-called huddling chamber, the strength of which determines not only the opening action but also the reseat pressure. 

Actions and recommendations should be differentiated. Actions must be completed or must progress to an acceptable state before the computer system can be authorized for use. Open actions should be listed in the Project Compliance Issue Log (see Chapter 6). Recommendations are just that they do not need to be completed before the computer system is authorized for use. Followup audits should track actions and recommendations as appropriate in the context of that audit. The management of actions and recommendations are summarized in Figure 7.7.

The continuous motion machines tend to be much larger, faster and more expensive and, being much faster with vacuum pick-up of the carton for a knock pre-break, are much more sensitive to the quality of the carton presented. 

The nonlubricated plug valve may be successfully used in refinery loading services in 2-inch, 3-inch, 4-inch sizes rated at 300 psi. The advantages of using this type of valve are bubble-tight closure, easy repair by replacing the slips and compact size with relatively quick opening action.

Among the groups which favour an opening action the following can be included the OH group, ether-, ketone- and ester-oxygen, etc. 

The action of the lower fatty acid anions is practically 2 ero at low concentrations. An opening action just begins at the caproate and rises considerably up to the undecylate. After this the action again falls to rise considerably with the higher fatty acid anions.
