Table 5-2 presents the effects of expected performance on various parameters or relationships for mixing. To actually calculate a numerical result of comparing impeller performances, the dimensionless numbers for flow power and force are needed. Note that in Table 5-2 the constant oasis is across the horizontal top of the chart and the function to be examined or compared is along the vertical left side. The optimum coefficients in Equation 2 are Eq -37.8363 and E =-0.5685 au. Eq is very close to the value -37.8366 found for the pure graphite clusters. The value of E corresponds to a contribution of 47.1 kcal/mol to the total energy of Cg 2Hg for each bonded H-atom (the hydrogen atom has an energy of -0.4935 au in the oasis set used). Alternatively, the parameter values can be interpreted as 83.3 kcal/mol per C-C bond, 88.7 kcal/mol per C-H bond. 

OASIS (optimized approach based on structural indices set) has been developed by Mekenyan and co-workers [87]. Given the activities or toxicities of a set of compounds, it generates large numbers of structural indices for each and develops QSAR correlations. The approach has been used to model the acute toxicity of industrial chemicals [88]. It is claimed [89] that the method can be of use in elucidating mechanisms of action.
