Nonwhite

This form, while less explicit than Eq. (21), allows one to treat stable and unstable modes on an equal footing and provides an efficient way to evaluate the TS trajectory numerically for a given instance of the noise. It also proves convenient to use this notation in the calculation of a TS trajectory for systems under the influence of nonwhite noise or deterministic driving. 

Another occupational study compared 53 lead-exposed male workers (2 nonwhite, 51 white) (mean PbB, 47.4 pg/dL range, 44-51 pg/dL) from a plant processing lead and cadmium compounds with a control group of 52 workers (8 nonwhite, 44 white) (mean PbB, 8.1 pg/dL, with none exceeding 20 pg/dL) from a nonlead industry (de Kort et al. 1987). Blood pressure levels were positively correlated with PbB and urine cadmium levels, but not with blood cadmium levels. The correlation for systolic blood pressure and PbB level remained significant after controlling for confounding variables. 

Thus, of course, the distinction between whiteness and nonwhiteness never fully lost its salience in American political culture. Mexican annexation, black Emancipation, Reconstruction, Jim Crow practices, Indian Wars, Asian immigration and Exclusion, Hawaiian and Puerto Rican annexation, and Philippine conquest—all would keep whiteness very much alive in both the visual and the political economies. But upon the arrival of the massive waves of Irish immigrants in the 1840s, whiteness itself would become newly problematic and, in some quarters, would begin to... 

It is against this backdrop that the history of political whiteness took shape and that the fluidity of certain groups racial identities became apparent. The crosscurrents here are terribly complex. The Mexican War, slavery and Emancipation, Reconstruction, Indian wars, anti-Chinese agitation, Pacific expansion, and popular accounts of Pacific, Asian, and African exploration all kept vividly alive the crucial distinction in American political culture dividing white from nonwhite populations, as did...
