Nitrogen fluoride sulfide

Thiazyl fluoride (nitrogen fluoride sulfide) is a colorless gas that condenses to a yellow liquid (bp 0.4°, mp —89°). The compound decomposes readily at room temperature and should be stored at —78°, where trimerization occurs slowly. It reacts violently with water. Thiazyl fluoride is very reactive toward electrophiles and nucleophiles. IR (gas) 1372 (s), 641 (vs), 366 (s) cm". F NMR " )(SF) (CFCl, int. ref.) 234 ppm. [Pg.17]

Nitrile sulfides (37) have some, admittedly slight, structural affinity with the other nitrogen-sulfur reagents discussed in Section IV. They are unstable reactive intermediates that can be generated by the thermolysis of 1,3,4-oxathiazol-2-ones (38) or of 1,3,4-oxathiazoles (39).41 42 An alternative preparation is by the elimination of 2 moles of hydrogen fluoride from imini-sulfur difluorides (Scheme 5).43 Nitrile sulfides (37) are capable of undergoing... [Pg.59]

In 1979 Vedejs and Martinez reported a terse communication on a new concept for the generation of nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus ylides. Their method consists of initial alkylation of the heteroatom of amines, imines, sulfides, or phosphines with trimethylsilylmethyl triflate, and subsequent desilylation of the resulting salts with fluoride ion (79JA6452). For the... [Pg.239]
