Transitions take a person from an old to a new reality. An example of a major transition for the child would include the entry into elementary school. For parents, an example would be adjusting to the onset of their child s adolescence. Unrealistic expectations about each change can make each transition significantly more difficult. 

If the drama is presented as reportage rather than fiction, the audience will develop a different relationship with the dramatic material. This is not always a relationship of respect the journalistic narration can also undermine the credibility of the drama, or supersede it with a new reality. In either case, the exterior narration introduces another voice into the drama. If that voice is purposeful, it can strengthen the dramatic impact of the script. 

Yet there is much that can be done immediately to redefine these challenges and turn them into value-added opportunities. Business leaders and academia alike must address the new realities. 

Yet an age of specialization, in which a matrix of relationships is an essential norm, requires an entirely new attitude toward partnership. Each must view the other as internal, an integral component of one s own company and perceive the partner s success as tantamount to the parent company s own. The idea that companies can create dynamic products together, or not at all, is still alien. The new reality of equality, and of genuinely shared fate, is difficult for traditional competitors to fully appreciate.
