Fluid overload can result in pulmonary congestion and peripheral edema. Nonspecific symptoms may include fatigue, nocturia, hemoptysis, abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea, bloating, ascites, poor appetite, ascites, mental status changes, and weight gain. [Pg.96]

Hypercalcemia of malignancy develops quickly and is associated with anorexia, nausea and vomiting, constipation, polyuria, polydipsia, and nocturia. Hypercalcemic crisis is characterized by acute elevation of serum calcium to greater than 15 mg/dL, acute renal failure, and obtundation. Untreated hypercalcemic crisis can progress to oliguric renal failure, coma, and life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. [Pg.898]

Other side effects include nausea, abdominal pain, somnolence, palpitations, muscle cramps, frequency of micturition or nocturia, cough, breathlessness, epistaxis, impotence, nervousness and conjunctivitis. [Pg.183]

The initial symptoms of hypervitaminosis D include weakness, fatigue, lassitude, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Renal function can be impaired at an early stage, with polyuria, polydipsia, nocturia, reduced urinary concentrating ability, and proteinuria. [Pg.3670]

Occasional Rash, ankle/facial edema, nocturia, dysuria, change in appetite/weight, dry mouth, sore gums, nausea, blurred vision... [Pg.233]

Side effects/adverse reactions Frequent Peripheral edema, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, bradycardia, asthenia (loss of strength, weakness) Occasional Nausea, constipation, flushing, altered ECG Rare Rash, micturition disorder (polyuria, nocturia, dysuria, frequency of urination), abdominal discomfort, somnolence... [Pg.293]

Paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea Exercise intolerance Tachypnea Cough Fatigue Nocturia Hemoptysis Abdominal pain Anorexia Nausea Bloating Ascites... [Pg.227]

Symptoms of lower urinary tract infections include dysuria, urgency, frequency, nocturia, and suprapubic heaviness, whereas upper urinary tract infections involve more systemic symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, and flank pain. [Pg.2081]

A 19-year-old man with ulcerative colitis was given cefprozil 1 g/day, mesalazine 3 g/day, methylprednisolone 32 mg/day, and ranitidine 300 m day. The cefprozil and ranitidine were withdrawn after 10 days and the methylprednisolone was tapered to zero over the next 3 months. The mesalazine was discontinued after 1 month because of vomiting and diarrhea. He was given sulfasalazine 2 g/day, but 7 months later developed fatigue, nausea, fever, and nocturia. He had raised serum urea and creatinine concentrations, and abdominal ultrasound showed normal kidneys. Sulfasalazine was withdrawn, but over the next 4 days, the serum urea and creatinine increased further and a renal biopsy showed changes compatible with granulomatous interstitial nephritis. Renal function recovered completely after a few days treatment with methylprednisolone. [Pg.572]
