Nanostructures containment

PAMAM dendrimers or modified PAMAM dendrimers (with oxiamine or sulfhydryl surface functionalities) exclusive of one another. These antisera recognize den-drimers in ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays), dot blots and Western blots. The immunogenicity of dendrimer-protein conjugates has implications for therapeutic use of dendrimers as vaccines and we anticipate that antidendrimer antibodies will have applications in patterning and assembling nanostructures containing dendrimers. [Pg.560]

The obtained nanostructure containing CNTs can be proposed for creation of field emission cathode prototypes, in particular, for novel display systems. [Pg.474]

In conclusion, three-dimensional periodic nanostructures containing erbium ions have been fabricated based on artificial opal matrices. Their photo luminescence efficiency was found to be higher as compared to a reference glass sample. Possible reasons responsible for enhancement include enhanced excitation efficiency due to increase in efficient absorption length and modification of spontaneous decay of ions in a periodic lattice due to redistribution of photon density of states. [Pg.41]

The thirty three papers in the proceedings of QSCP-Xni are divided between the present two volumes in the following manner. The first volume, with the subtitle Conceptual and Computational Advances in Quantum Chemistry, contains twenty papers and is divided into six parts. The first part focuses on historical overviews of significance to the QSCP workshop series and quantum chemistry. The remaining five parts, entitled High-Precision Quantum Chemistry, Beyond Nonrelativistic Theory Relativity and QED, Advances in Wave Function Methods, Advances in Density Functional Theory, and Advances in Concepts and Models, address different aspects of quantum mechanics as applied to electronic structure theory and its foundations. The second volume, with the subtitle Dynamics, Spectroscopy, Clusters, and Nanostructures, contains the remaining thirteen papers and is divided into three parts Quantum Dynamics and Spectroscopy, Complexes and Clusters, and Nanostructures and Complex Systems. ... [Pg.457]

Biological membranes are complex heterogeneous nanostructures containing a variety of compounds. The main ones are phospholipids and proteins. The protein/lipid ratio varies strongly between, say, 0.25 and 2.5 depending on the species and, for a given species, the type of cell or organelle and, therewith, the functions. [Pg.377]

Other authors [36] suggest a different classification, suitable to categorize a larger number of mono- and multi-component nanomaterials. In particular, the authors identify 36 classes of nanostructures containing up to three different components. [Pg.140]

Nanostructures containing cationized gelatin are able to protect pDNA and siRNA from nuclease degradation and transfect a variety of cell types and tissues, both in vitro and in vivo. After cationization with ethylenediamine or spermine, the levels of transfection efficiency achieved can be compared to those provided by classic transfection agents such as polyethyleneimine. Table 8.2 shows the most important results obtained with nanoparticles based on cationized gelatin for gene delivery. [Pg.252]
