Werner Weindorf received his Engineering Degree in Physics at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. He has been with Ludwig-Bolkow-Systemtechnik since January 1999 as technology and policy consultant. His major activities are life-cycle analysis (LCA) and technoeconomic analysis of alternative and conventional fuels, hydrogen infrastructure and renewable energies. [Pg.660]

Alfred Schmidpeter took his PhD at Munich University in 1960 with Egon Wiberg. His research contributions since then have been in different fields of organophosphorus and organoarsenic chemistry, such as phosphazenes, aminophosphine tautomers, oligocyclic phosphoranes, azaphospholes, two-coordinate phosphorus and arsenic in conjugated cyclic and acyclic systems. He was Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Munich since 1975 and retired in 1997. [Pg.614]

Konstantin Karaghiosoff received his PhD in 1986 from Munich University under the supervision of Alfred Schmidpeter. In his Thesis he developed the synthesis of many new heterophospholes. Further interests of him include phosphorus selenide derived anions and cations, as well as the analysis of NMR spectra of high order. He is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Munich. [Pg.614]

Painter and engraver in wood, prominent member of the Vorticist movement. Attended Munich University and the Slade Art School. Attached to the Dazzle Painting Section from March 1917 as Lieutenant RNVR. Executed some of the decorations for the liner Queen Mary in 1936. Arnold Sommerfeld (1868-1951), German physicist and professor at the Mining Academy in Clausthal, then at the Technical University of Aachen, in the key period 1906-1938, was professor at Munich University. Sommerfeld considered not only circular (Bohr-like) orbits, but also elliptical ones, and introduced the angular quantum number. He also investigated X-rays and the theory of metals. The scientific father of many Nobel Prize winners, he did not earn this distinction himself. [Pg.9]
