Multiple-price strategy

The one-phase optimization strategy considers one or multiple spot price scenarios. Each scenario is characterized by the spot price factor, which expresses possible spot price levels (e.g. 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2) for each relevant product-location combination pi, period t and scenario 5. Each scenario has a subjective probability. While supply decisions remain unchanged, the various spot price scenarios lead to multiple turnover scenarios that are realized with the same spot sales quantity. Since price scenarios are represented by specific price factors, they can be directly applied to model spot turnover in the objective function. [Pg.246]

Full lifecycle costing has not been applied to the delivery of alternative fuels. Any strategy to select appropriate delivery systems should involve full lifecycle valuation of the options. Lifecycle cost analyses should compare gaseous and liquid hydrogen delivery and hydrogen carrier media such as metal and chemical hydrides, methanol, and ammonia. Multiple delivery infrastructures may be essential, which could add to the price of transitioning to a hydrogen economy. [Pg.615]

Very few papers to date have considered multiple products that share a common resource such as production capacity. This problem becomes even more difficult when there are interactions among products, such as demand diversions or cross-elasticities, but many companies are quite interested in these interaction effects. It may also be possible to bundle multiple products and determine pricing and production policies in a way that make the system more efficient. Also, determining pricing and production strategies when common components of limited supply make up numerous products is an interesting topic. [Pg.380]

This synthesis illustrates one strategy for the preparation of acyclic molecules containing multiple stereogenic centers — use cyclic structures to control stereochemistry and then liberate the acyclic structure. The strategy is not unlike several of the Cecropia juvenile hormone syntheses we examined, where stereoselective olefin synthesis was the goal. Whereas three pieces are ultimately assembled, the synthesis of the central fragment is linear and there was a price to pay for this approach. It is long. [Pg.507]

In terms of actuators, multiple configurations are possible to increase safety or availability, any combination of these different architectures is possible. However, a maximum of three actuators is usually used because of the price of actuators of which the following configurations are representative (e.g. closing a power supply pipe with solenoid valves). Some strategies can be very advantageous in terms of SIL, but are often considered too expensive. [Pg.388]
