Multiple modules

Furthermore, if one has a multipartite system, and thus a decoherence matrix, one must perform multiple modulation schemes that address the different qubits, on top of performing the aforementioned single-qubit scheme for all the qubits. This is essential to ascertain the cross-coupling spectra of all the possible qubit pairs. As discussed in Refs [19, 20, 112], these cross-coupling spectra are extremely important in reducing disentanglement and allow, in certain circumstances, to completely eliminate decoherence. [Pg.207]

If a system comprises several modules, it is recommended that system tests be performed for parameters that are affected by multiple modules (holistic testing) rather than performing tests module by module (modular testing). Individual module tests should be performed if the parameter is affected by that module only (e.g., the wavelength accuracy of an HPLC variable-wavelength detector or the temperature accuracy of a column compartment). [Pg.261]

For more complex systems with intermediate modulation or multiple modulation time scales, a cumulant approximation is useful [see Equation (4)] (34) ... [Pg.401]

Experimental studies have shown that logic circuits of size between 2000 to 5000 gates are best handled by a logic optimizer. This implies that in a Verilog HDL model, always statements must not be inordinately long. A design should be structured into multiple always statements or multiple modules. [Pg.168]

Modular PKS enzymes are responsible for the synthesis of a wide diversity of structures and seem to have more relaxed specificities in several of the enzymatic steps. Their enormous appeal for combinatorial purposes, though, derives from the presence of multiple modules that can be manipulated independently, allowing the production of rings of different sizes and with potential stereochemical variation at each PK carbon. The higher complexity of these pathways has somewhat hindered their exploitation, but recently, several have been fully characterized. Among them, by far the most studied modular multienzyme complex is 6-deoxyerythronolide B synthase (DEBS 240,266,267), which produces the 14-member macrolide 6-deoxyerythronolide B (10.70, Fig. 10.45). DEBS contains three large subunits each of which contains two PKS enzyme modules. Each module contains the minimal PKS enzyme vide supra) and either none (M3), one (ketoreductase KR Ml, M2, MS, and M6), or three (dehydratase DH-enoyl reductase ER-ketoreductase KR, M4) catalytic activities that produce a keto (M3), an hydroxy (Ml, M2, MS and M6), or an unsubstituted methylene (M4) on the last monomeric unit of the growing chain (Fig. 10.45). A final thioesterase (TE) activity catalyzes lactone formation with concomitant release of 10.70 from the multienzyme complex. Introduction of TE activity after an upstream module allows various reduced-size macrolides (10.71-10.73, Eig. 10.45) to be obtained. [Pg.555]

Accurate results require measurement of multiple modulation frequencies and fitting the resulting phase shifts and demodulations to characterize the fluorescence decay. At low frequencies, the fluorescence signal follows closely the modulation of the excitation pulse. At high frequencies, the time lag between excitation produces a phase shift in the fluorescence signal, and the distribution of time lags over the fluorescence decay manifests... [Pg.555]

As mentioned before, in the case of spins-1 to for an optimum signal sensitivity enhancement the satellite transitions need to be sequentially perturbed. In the conversion of MQC SQC, where MQC may represent any order of coherence laiger than 3, the perturbation should proceed from the outer satellite transitions to the inner satellite transitions. Such a transfer may be envisioned by an application of a series of F (F) pulses with multiple modulation frequencies as in the case of SQC ... [Pg.124]

Multiple modules can be assembled in a tube as shown in Figure 7 [11]. From one to six modules can be assembled in a pressure tube and the pressure tubes can be configured in skid-mounted banks of multiple tubes. [Pg.94]

As pointed out above, meaningful alignments can be missed by this approach if the proteins contain multiple modules. Consequently, it is recommended that matching sequences be further analyzed with the lalign program. [Pg.202]

Gas permeation is used to separate gas mixtures, for example, hydrogen fixjm methane. High pressures on the order of 500 psia are used to force the molecules through a dense polymer membrane, which is packaged in pressure-vessel modules, each containing up to 4,000 ft of membrane surface area. Membrane modules cost approximately 35/ft of membrane surface area. Multiple modules are arranged in parallel to achieve the desired total membrane area. [Pg.542]

Having completed the top portion of toe DTN, a decision point on continuing through the in vivo tests is reached. A diverse selection of nanomaterials was able to pass multiple modules in toe in vitro tests (Table II). [Pg.161]

The determination of heat capacities by using multiple modulation frequencies is illustrated above in detail using the Figs. 4.95-96. A precision of up to 0.1% has been reported with these measurements [33]. Such precision allows TMDSC to compete with adiabatic calorimetry described in Sect. 4.2. Although DSC and TMDSC are not able to reach as low temperatures as adiabatic calorimeters, they are able to reach up to 1,000 K, not possible for typical adiabatic calorimetry. [Pg.386]

However, for the same data collection time, interferometry is more sensitive to multiplicative noise (i.e., noise proportional to the signal) than continuous-scan interferometry [591]. To eliminate the multiplicative and 1// noise, phase modulation (at 400 Hz) of IR radiation in conjunction with LIA demodulation is used [591]. Since the LIA and some IR detectors need the IR signal to be modulated at a single carrier frequency, a mechanical chopper, phase modulation (when at each position the fixed mirror is dithered at a fixed frequency), or modulation of absorption of the sample is used to produce a carrier frequency. In this case, the TR measurement is referred to as a synchronous multiple-modulation experiment. Multiple modulation is unnecessary if the so-called dc coupled detector which does not require a varying signal is used. [Pg.386]

Two types of enzyme systems operate like an assembly line, produce a diverse group of natural products, and have proven to be useful for generation of compound libraries. These systems are composed of multiple modules, in which an individual module consists of either a PKS or an NRPS. Each module has a specific set of catalytic domains that determines the structure of the metabolic product. [Pg.63]

At distances of 100 km and above, the signal consists of a single antineutrino event in each of 10 detectors in a 10 second time gate. Actual burst-like backgrounds such as supemovae are low, while multiple events produced in a single module from muon showering would not satisfy the multiple module requirement. Therefore the only events of concern are accidental fluctuations to the event level in multiple modules within the 10 second time window. To derive an upper limit on acceptable noise levels per module, we calculate the probability that false positives occur in any m (= 10) out of n detectors in a 10 second period, and demand that this probability be small, m and n can be related by modifying equation 4 ... [Pg.25]

FIGURE 5.3.5.3 Outlets Clustered on Floor. It is common to use electrical strips since there are often multiple modules of an instrument(s) that need to have electricity. It is easy to forget that plugging in lots of equipment into these electrical strips could present a fire hazard. If the numerous cords are not neatly contained they can present other hazards such as trip hazards or shock hazards if a water spill enters into the strip. [Pg.306]

With the use of this MDFEA framework, nonlinearities are accounted for in the individual computational modules, such as in ZEUS-NL and VecTorl. The different features of these modules, including finite element model resolutions, theoretical algorithms and numerical techniques, will lead to different accuracy levels and different deviations of strain and stress resultants. Hence, the actual movements and reaction feedbacks at control points will contain errors combined from multiple modules that are difficult to eliminate. Another error source originates from the interface modeling, such as in this case study example in which either rigid or flexible slab assumptions were used. [Pg.237]

A real 54-story high-rise building with a dual core wall-frame structural system was selected as the case study example. By using the MDFEA framework, both static pushover and dynamic response history analyses were conducted. Multiple modules corresponding to frame and wall components were built in UI-SIMCOR and analyzed with frame-wall interaction effects fully considered in a step-by-step manner. [Pg.238]
