Next, we discuss strategies to make maximal use of simple unbiased movesets for conformational sampling of biomacromolecules. We provide an example to illustrate how the inclusion of conformational fluctuations spanning multiple length scales can improve the quality of sampling. We conclude with a discussion of the metrics and guidelines that can be used to optimize a moveset for a given system. 

Of course, the pharmaceutical industry is not the only sector in which process engineering is needed to enhance national security and homeland defense. Also, other areas of process engineering such as model development, optimization schemes, on-line control, catalyst development, new separation methods, biomass conversion, and models using multiple length scales are equally important to include in research efforts.

The construction of well-ordered supramolecular architectures in which Pcs or Pc-analogs are organized across multiple length scales is highly desirable, as it opens up the possibility of using these macrocycles for relevant technological applications such as field-effect-transistors (FETs), gas sensors, or photovoltaic cells, to mention a few.
