Standard equipment includes a hose and an adjustable nozzle on a handgun. Some models have multi-nozzle booms. These sprayers are suitable for relatively small outdoor areas, especially small orchards, ornamental and nursery plantings, and golf course greens. 

Mixed acid and glycerine are stored externally in separate tanks and are transferred by means of centrifugal and gear pumps to small feed tanks. From the feed tanks the reactants are sent to the nitrator by means of two positive displacement pumps driven by the same electric motor. Favorable conditions for collisions exist in multi-nozzle spray dryers where two or more atomization clouds penetrate each other (Fig. 6.4-9) resulting in the attachment of larger, often equal-sized particles and the production of larger agglomerates. This is in contrast to what has been shown in Fig. 6.4-8, in which only smaller particles are captured by larger ones. 

Further to single-hole orifice plates for droplet generators, multi-nozzle or multicapillary devices were already used by Dabora [21], as discussed above, for producing sprays of monodisperse droplets. For producing separate liquid jets from showerhead nozzles with nozzle holes in thin orifice plates, a minimum spacing s of the nozzle holes with diameter d must be exceeded to avoid coalescence of the jets at the downstream side of the orifice plate. According to Walzel, this distance is ensured by the relation [7]... 

Virtual impactors have been designed to eliminate problems of bounce and re-entrainment and to allow the collection of larger particles (Chen et al., 1986 Marple and Chein, 1980). In a virtual impactor, the intake air is typically divided into two air streams the major and the minor flows. The major flow carries most of the fine particles smaller than the cutoff diameter and the minor flow carries all the coarse particles above the cutoff diameter with a small fraction of the fine particles. Various studies on virtual impactors have been carried out for particle collection and concentration since the late 1980s. Meyer and Lee (1994) used a virtual impactor as a means of concentrating metal aerosol suspended in the air to enhance the performance of an inductively coupled plasma analyser. Kim et al. (2000) designed and tested multi-nozzle virtual impactors for high-volume particle collection. Virtual impactors, however, have an inherent problem that a small fraction of the fine particles is collected with the large particles.

For very low cavity distances multi-nozzles called cluster nozzles (Figure 1.53) are favorable. At the same time, however, it should be noted that the branching of the mass flow should happen in a well heated area and not where the melt is already cooling.

Figure 270 shows two of these turnkey systems, equipped with the multi-nozzle described in Section 2,3,3,4,... 

The building material has the biggest impact. It can be initially available as a solid, liquid, or gas. To get a solid layer with defined contours, it is melted and cooled or chemically transformed. The contouring is done simultaneously or sequentially with laser scanners, laser plotters, electron beam systems, projectors, infrared radiators, single or multi-nozzle systems, and extruders. 

The powder, which is located in a installation space, is locally connected on its surface (according to the layer contour) by a sequentially injected binder liquid and thus forms a solid layer. The binder input is done by multi-nozzle pressure heads. 

In steel refining processes, gas is often injected into the bath through multi-nozzles or multi-tuyers in order to enhance mixing, chemical reaction rates, and inclusion removal effieiently [34,35]. If the nozzles are placed adjacent to one another. 

Most applicators apply a single bead of adhesive but, where parallel beads are required, multi-nozzle applicators can be used to advantage however, care must be taken to ensure that the flow out of each nozzle is as required. 

Multi-nozzle systems have been used successfully in Europe and Japan to dispense spots and beads of adhesive on to automotive body panels. Changes in deposition pattern are possible but are more complex to change than when flexible automation is used. 

The disadvantage of robot based systems is that of cycle time they are slower than multi-nozzle dispensers but comparable with single-nozzle...
