Ouricuri wax is an exudate on the underside of the leaves of the Syagrus coronata palm in northeastern Brazil and has similar properties and composition to Camauba wax. Ouricouri wax is used in the manufacture of carbon paper, mould release agents and inks. 

Any substance used to prevent rubber sticking to itself or to the surface of a mould. The lubricant may be a dry powder such as soapstone or a liquid such as silicone emulsion. See Dusting Agent and Mould Release Agent.

Many rubber compounds have a tendency to stick in the mould cavity after vulcanisation and require some type of mould release agent. The substances used are surface-active materials such as detergents, soaps, wetting agents, silicone emulsions, aqueous dispersions of talc, mica and fatty acids, applied by spray or brush. Alternatively, dry types based on polytetrafluoroethylene or polyethylene, usually carried in a solvent, can be aerosol applied. An alternative is the addition of an incompatible material to the rubber compound which will bleed to the rubber surface during vulcanisation. 

Application of any mould release agent should use the minimum amount required to effect release.

Direction of innovation (from the standpoint of market actors - 6al The primary concerns are the quality and price of products. As possible damage to the concrete surface due to incorrect usage of mould release agents causes very high costs for repairs, new products with another apphcation technology are considered with scepticism. 

Direction of iimovation (from the standpoint of the SubChem research group - 6bl The advantage of vegetable-oil-based mould release agents is, on the one hand, in their character as renewable raw materials, their biodegradability and on the other hand the reduction of VOC emissions as well as risks of fire and explosion. 

As far as the SubChem cases are concerned, this theory is cortfirmed in the case of cooling lubricants, mould release agents and metal cleaning. 

The oxidised waxes (containing various ratios of fatty acids, esters and alcohols) are used in the manufacture of various polishes, anti-corrosion coatings, tile glazing carriers, precision casting waxes, mould release agents, metal coatings etc.

The polymerization runs were carried out in a flat aluminium mould. At a temperature of about 100 °C, the initiator was dissolved in one half of the caprolactam while the catalyst and the impact modifier were dissolved in the other half. The two solutions were mixed and the mixture was poured into the mould, which had a temperature of 130-160 °C. After about 10 minutes the finished plate was taken from the mould no mould release agent was used.
