Modeling wastewater

The efficiency of UV/O3 process (pH 8) for decolorization and mineralization of RB137 was investigated at higher dye loading of model wastewater, 80 mgL" (Figure 13). It can be seen that complete bleaching was achieved after 20 minutes of treatment, while final extent of partial mineralization after a one-hour treatment is 64.4% TOC removal. Trend of the curve that connects points of TOC removal extents measured during the treatment is almost linear, i.e. very different than that... 

The main estimation results are values of ratio mineralization extent/process operating costs (ME/POC). Besides costs estimation on the basis of mineralized organic content, the cost for decolorization below visibility limit, <1 mgL that corresponds to decolorization below 1.25 % in our case, are also showed. From the point of view of the most suitable processes for decolorization of RB137 model wastewater below visibility limit, it can be seen that processes combining ozone and UV irradiation, UV/O3 and UV/O3/H2O2, are double cheaper than...
