Mo -enriched

The most significant Mo isotope feature in these settings is their 5 Mo enrichment (Barling et al. 2001 Arnold et al. 2004) in Holocene, organic-rich sediments from both basins, 5 Mo is >l%o heavier than in igneous rocks, molybdenites or ferromanganese sediments. Black Sea Unit I samples are more enriched in heavy isotopes than any other rocks analyzed to date. 

Similar to boron, the consideration of biogeochemistry of molybdenum will be carried out on the example of a Mo-enriched area of Armenia, a mountain country in the south Caucasus. In the high-mountain part of this country, two biogeochemical provinces have been monitored theAnkawan and the Kanzharan provinces (Figures 14 and 15).

The effects of natural biogeochemical Mo enrichment has been significantly increased due to the development of molybdenum ore exploration and enhancement of natural biogeochemical migration of this trace element during the 1970s. 

Of all the isotopes, only Mo possess nuclear magnetic moments (7 = 5/2 for both see Table 2). Therefore, these two isotopes only contribute to 25% of the total spectrum with the remaining 75% not showing any hyperfine interaction. Molybdenum, both the inorganic salt and that contained in Mo-enriched sludge, and lime (CaO) were applied to a sandy loam soil in a greenhouse to evaluate the influence of soil pH on plant uptake and extractability of Mo (Pierzynski and Jacobs, 1986a). Molybdenum in com (Zea mays L.), soybean, and alfalfa increased with increases in soil pH. Molybdenum extracted with AB-DTPA also increased with increasing soil pH, but values for Mo extracted with acid ammonium oxalate were not influenced by soil pH. Plant Mo was more closely related to values obtained by the AB-DTPA method than those by the ammonium oxalate method. Including soil pH in the multiple-regression analyses of plant Mo or extractable soil Mo improved predictions in 17 of 24 prediction equations. 

The compositions of surface layers of Cr-Fe-Mo alloys were investigated under various conditions by [1979Mat, 1984Goe, 1997Ked]. An examination of the influence of Mo on the corrosion behavior of Cr-Fe-Mo alloys or (Cr,Mo) steels was the driving force for ftiese studies. The influence of Cr and ftie polarization potential in hydrochloric acid on the surface composition was established by [1984Goe]. The results obtained showed that active dissolution leads to a Mo enrichment of flic surface layer, which consequently inhibits further active dissolution.

Detailed results of the catalyst characterisation were reported elsewhere [8]. Mo-Fe Hiked oxide prepared by coprecipitation with bulk Mo/Fe=1.5 atomic ratio (A. A. analyse) had a surfece area of 2.8 mVg and a XRD pattern attributable to Fe2(Mo04)3 pure phase. Phase purity was confirmed by Mdssbuaer spectroscopy. EDX and XPS evidenced a slight Mo enrichment of superficial layers of catalyst.
