In 1983, Mimoun and co-workers reported that benzene can be oxidized to phenol stoichiometrically with hydrogen peroxide in 56% yield, using peroxo-vana-dium complex 1 (Eq. 2) [20]. Oxidation of toluene gave a mixture of ortho-, meta-and para-cresols with only traces of benzaldehyde. The catalytic version of the reaction was described by Shul pin[21] and Conte [22]. In both cases, conversion of benzene was low (0.3-2%) and catalyst turned over 200 and 25 times, respectively. The reaction is thought to proceed through a radical chain mechanism with an electrophilic oxygen-centered and vanadium-bound radical species [23]. 

The feasibility of Ru as a permanent modi her for the determination of Cd in biological samples treated with TMAH by ET-AAS was investigated [10]. The sample dissolution procedure was very simple a sample aliquot was mixed with a small volume of a 25 percent TMAH solution, the volume was made up to 50 mL and the mixture was kept at 60°C for 1 h. Four biological CRMs (DOLT-2, DORM-1, LUST-1, and TORT-2) were analyzed and the obtained Cd concentrations were within the 95 percent cont>dence interval of the certified values. 

The identification of phase grading from XRD alone is not possible microscopic methods (Chui and Chan, 2005 Dutoit et al., 1995 Hills et al., 1999 Prakash et al., 2005) are needed to determine the locations of the phases that are identified. It is critical to compare the same active state of the catalyst in XRD and in microscopic investigations, as core-shell structures may be the result of phase segregation during sample preparation and transfer from a metastable statistical mix (Conte et al., 2006 Havecker et al., 2003 Hutchings, 2004 Kiely et al., 1996) into the more stable graded phase mixture (Frenkel et al., 2001 Fu et al., 2005 Hills et al., 1999).

Data have been obtained concerning the stability of ampicillin in human stool specimens. Sixty-four to eighty-four percent of the ampicillin was recovered after 3-4 week storage of the stool-buffer blend in dry ice. A recovery cont control consisting of the sample stool-buffer blend dosed with a known amount of ampicillin was prepared for each sample. When a correction is made based on the recovered penicillin from the control, full recovery of ampicillin and stability through 3 weeks is obtained from the stool-buffer mixture . When ampicillin was incubated with the fecal flora of rats and tested for antibiotic activity, only 36.7% of the ampicillin activity was left after 4 hours . ...

A majority of studies have been concerned with anodizing aluminum and its alloys, " " " although tantalum, " titanium, zirconium, and other transition and coinage metals have been of interest. The Italian school under Conte has been particularly active in these investigations which have mainly centered on nitrate melts, over the temperature interval 343-723 K. A bisulfate mixture is used in a Japanese commercial process. " Table 4 shows some of the melt systems that have been studied.
