Minimal Requirements

In this section, the minimal requirements sketched in Section 5.2.2 are described in more detail. The two requirements on disputes are expressed in the formal notation introduced in Section 5.2.6. The others are discussed informally. As mentioned, the preconditions about coimections, the relations between different parameters about identities of recipients, and the treatment of system termination are provisional. [Pg.81]

The requirement of the recipient on disputes is, in fact, a requirement of an interest group consisting of a recipient, idp Id/(, and a court, id Mq [Pg.81]

The recipient wishes that any message he has accepted as authenticated should also be accepted by the court if a dispute about this message arises. However, in a minimal requirement fulfilled by invisible signature schemes, too, one has to allow the court to decide that the signer has not cooperated. Hence the result should be TRUE or not cooperated . [Pg.81]

An even weaker requirement of the recipient would be that the court does not obtain the output FALSE, but any other element of Dispute results would be permitted. In particular, such a generalization would be needed if accountable centres were allowed, see Section 5.2.3. This particular technique is suitable only for laboratoiy investigation using tanks that are transparent and well illuminated. It does not lend itself to evaluation of the opaque tanks, nor is it used in any study of large-scale tanks in the field.
