No treatment related mortality was observed however, two control mice were found dead in cages and two high dose mice (one of each sex) were killed in extremis on days 5 and 6. A statistically significant decrease in weight (about 10% as compared to controls) was observed in both sexes at 80.0 ppm, and 89% of the males and 78% of the females showed minimal to mild inflammation of the nasal mucosa in the anterior segments of the nose. No such effects were observed at the lower doses or in controls. 

AD patients showed mild inflammation with induction of the parakeratosis, decreased moisture holding ability, and inferior barrier function, while HD patients showed only reduced moisture holding ability with almost normal skin barrier function but without inflammation. Then, it was concluded that the dry skin of AD patients resulted from the lack of moisture holding factor (free amino acids, NMF) and inferior barrier function of SC, while that in HD patients was mainly attributed to the decrease of the moisture holding factors. 

The correct answer is B. Due to the increased severity of this allergic reaction secondary to re-exposure, the next step in therapy is oral steroids. Prednisone, a glucocorticoid, is commonly used to treat conditions such as skin inflammation, asthma, and arthritis. Prednisone acts by decreasing the production of the mediators of inflammation, thereby resulting in its antiinflammatory action. A is incorrect. Hydrocortisone is a low potency glucocorticoid that is indicated for mild inflammation and irritation of the skin. The child s inflammation is severe enough to require systemic steroid therapy. 

Topical ocular steroids are often not effective alone in treating scleritis however, up to 47% of patients with diffuse or nodular scleritis may recover with only 1% topical prednisolone acetate. Therefore, topical steroids may be appropriate in treating mild inflammation and pain, to maintain a state of remission between exacerbations, and as adjunctive therapy to oral agents.Topical cyclosporine A may also be effective in treatment of scleritis, either alone or as an adjunctive agent to systemic treatment.

Local venous effects, including erythema, tenderness, and discomfort, can occur at the injection site during paclitaxel infusion (13). Inflammation is evident within hours and usually resolves within 21 days. Inflammation occurs in areas of drug extravasation along with prolonged soft tissue injuries, and necrotic changes have been reported in one patient at the site of extravasation (41). Inflammation is most likely to be due to the drug, but the Cremophor EL vehicle may be implicated, as it produces mild inflammation in animals (41). 

The biocompatibility of EVAc matrices has been studied quite extensively. When implanted in the cornea of rabbits—which is sensitive to edema, white-cell infiltration, and neovascularization associated with inflammation— purified EVAc caused no inflammation, while unpurified EVAc caused mild inflammation [33]. After seven months of subcutaneous implantion, only a thin capsule of connective tissue surrounded EVAc implants no inflammation was present and the adjacent loose connective tissue was normal [34]. When implanted in the brains of rats, EVAc matrices produced only mild gliosis...

Since the colon returns, at endoscopy, to a normal appearance after resolution of inflammation, also US reveals a normal colonic wall.
