Microimplant

We foresee a tremendous progress in the development of neural prostheses in the next 20 years. Developments will focus on microimplants that could help neurally impaired people to restore activities of daily life.

In alkaline media divinylsulfone or butadienesulfone, sulfonyl ether linkage is formed between hydroxyl groups of HA. Depending on the reaction conditions, the reaction products could have different consistencies from the soft gels up to solid films (the same method could be used for formation the membranes and hollow pipe).
