Methods of Planarization

Several contending technologies are presently being used to achieve local and global planarizations that include spin on deposition (SOD), reflow of boron phosphorous silicate glass (BPSG), spin etch planarization (SEP), reactive ion etching and etch back (RIE EB), spin on deposition and etch back [Pg.5]

One who is well versed in CMP may choose to believe that the machine has the functions detailed below [26]. Can you identify them  [Pg.6]

Along with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurements, the traditional method of studying the adsorption of proteins, a novel, very sensitive method of planar polarisation interferometry [14, 15] was adopted here. Adsorption of both antigen and antibody as well as their specific interaction were studied with above methods. [Pg.354]

A novel method of planar polarisation interferometry (PPI) [14, 15] was adopted here for monitoring the immune reaction with enhanced sensitivity. Planar waveguides, schematically shown in Fig. 5a, were fabricated by planar technology on silicon wafers and consists of 1.3 pm thick layer of Si02,190 nm thick Si3N4 layer and 1pm thick layer of phosphorosilicate glass. [Pg.358]

Abstract An Eddy current method applying a High Temperature Superconductor ( HTS ) DC SQUID sensor operating at Uquid nitrogen temperature (77K) is presented. The method is developed for the detection of surface or surface near defects. We compare the performance of the SQUID system with the performance gained from a commercial Eddy current system, while using identical probes. The experimental data are obtained on defects in gas turbine blades. The advantage of planar conformable probes for the use with the SQUID is discussed. [Pg.297]

Samples are most frequently shock deformed under laboratory conditions utilizing either explosive or gun-launched flyer (driver) plates. Given sufficient lateral extent and assembly thickness, a sample may be shocked in a onedimensional strain manner such that the sample experiences concurrently uniaxial-strain loading and unloading. Based on the reproducibility of projectile launch velocity and impact planarity, convenience of use, and ability to perform controlled oblique impact (such as for pressure-shear studies) guns have become the method of choice for many material equation-of-state and shock-recovery studies [21], [22]. [Pg.194]

A common experimental method for creating a region of spall is through the flat impact of plates of material. Such impact leads to a process of planar spall in which an interior planar region of material is carried into tension and failure occurs through a process of crack formation or hole cavitation. Much... [Pg.266]

Obviously, properties like the shear modulus might well be different for close-packed planes and cube planes, because the number of bonds attaching them per unit area is different. This is one of the reasons that it is important to have a method of describing various planar packing arrangements. [Pg.49]

Hiickel s calculations on planar conjugated systems were extensively exploited, and I refer you once again to Streitwieser s classic book. Molecular Orbital Theory for Organic Chemists. What few calculations that had been done at that time on the (T framework had used the method of linear combination of bond orbitals. [Pg.129]

In this case, there are three equivalent hybrid orbitals, each called sp (trigonal hybridization). This method of designating hybrid orbitals is perhaps unfortunate since nonhybrid orbitals are designated by single letters, but it must be kept in mind that each of the three orbitals is called sp. These orbitals are shown in Figure 1.4. The three axes are all in one plane and point to the comers of an equilateral triangle. This accords with the known structure of boron trifluoride (BF3), a planar molecule with angles of 120°. [Pg.7]

The most important current problem of planar chromatography is the elaboration of theoretical and experimental methods for predicting the conditions of mixture separation in order to achieve better results. Planar chromatography is an analytical chemistry technique for the separation of mixtures that involves passing of solutes in the mobile phase through the stationary phase. Usually, each component has a... [Pg.61]
