Mechanical methods of joining, such as flange fittings, shall be performed carefully to avoid the creation of offsets, gaps, penetrations, and voids. 

Stitching - A method of joining two pieces of uncured rubber compound together by means of a stitching roller, and a hand held tool comprised of a wheel with a narrow edge which is often serrated. It is commonly used to make tank lining joints. 

The third method of joining heavy and light chains involves the use of recombination systems. Heat sealing A method of joining plastic films by simultaneous application of heat and pressure to areas in contact. Heat may be supplied conductively or dielectrically. 

It is possible to distinguish three methods of joining tetrahedral structures, i.e. with common points as in SiOg, with common sides, as in SiSg, and with common faces as in AlgOg. Pauling considers that a transfer from a common point structure to a common side structure is related to an increase in the covalent character of the bonds.

Thermosetting Foam Substrates Most thermosetting plastics are not particularly difficult to bond. Obviously, solvent cementing is not suitable for bonding thermosets to themselves, since they are not soluble. In some cases solvent solutions can be used to join thermoplastics to thermosets. In general, adhesive bonding is the only practical method of joining a thermoset to itself or to a non-plastic material. Epoxies or modified epoxies are the most widely used adhesives for thermosets (1).
