Medium lift

Hoists for medium lift, heavy duty with push trolley, multiple disc brakes including motor and drive. FOB cost = 16000 for lifting capacity = 2.6 Mg with n = 0.36 for the range 4.5-26 and n = 1.48 for the range 26-45. For motor driven trolley X 1.6. [Pg.386]

The Boeing GH-47 Chinook, a medium-lift helicopter, is the largest-capacity aircraft used by the Army and Air Force for personnel and cargo transport. The Sikorsky GH-54 Sky Crane was the only heavy-lift helicopter in the inventory but was phased out at the end of the Vietnam War because it was too unwieldy. Variants of the Sky Crane are still used in the construction and logging industries. [Pg.1909]

While the Navy and Marines also use many of the same helicopters as the Army and Air Force, the primary workhorses have been the SH-3 Sea King and the GH-46 Sea Knight. These medium-lift helicopters are used to transport personnel and cargo. [Pg.1909]

Medium Lift Any lift where the payload weight is over 10 tons but less than 50 tons. [Pg.116]

Drum Separators Very coarse solids, up to 0.3 m (12 in), are often processed in a drum separator of the type shown in Fig. 19-32. This is similar to a ball-mill shell with hfters permanently attached to the wall. Medium and feed enter at one end, and the float product flows out through the discharge trunnion, while the sink is lifted by the rotation of the drum to a stationaiy launder, through which it is flushed out. Modifications of this type include division of the shell into two compartments, which permits simultaneous operation at two different piup densities resulting in various grades of products. The two-compartment revolving drum is illustrated in Fig. 19-32. [Pg.1790]

The flotation process was developed in the mining and coal processing industries as a way of separating suspended solids from a medium such as water. As noted above, the flotation process has found uses in other fields, such as wastewater treatment. The process introduces fine air bubbles into the mixture, so that the air bubbles attach to the particles, and lift them to the surface. [Pg.318]

It is common to sterilise the media and Petri dishes separately. When the medium is cooled to about 55 °C, in front of a flame or in a laminar flow chamber, lift the lid of the dish enough to pour about 25 ml of the medium to the desired depth and lower the lid in place. It is best to gently move the Petri dish in way that spreads a thin layer of agar uniformly without any ah bubbles. Distribution of media in the Petri dishes should be done in front of a flame. Most plastic Petri dishes are made of polystyrene and are not autoclaveable. Plastic Petri dishes are easily deformed during sterilisation at high temperature. Some plastic dishes can be autoclaved, but they ate more expensive. Please follow the instructions given by the manufacturer or obtain information from catalogues. [Pg.348]

A vacuum rotary-drum filter consists of a porous septum that surrounds an empty rotating drum. The bottom of the drum is immersed in the sludge liquor. A vacuum pulled on the inside of the drum causes the water to enter the drum through the filter medium. The solids that cannot pass through are retained on the surface of the medium. As the drum rotates, the solids at the surface of the septum are lifted out of... [Pg.442]

Bioslurping is most effective in fine- to medium-textured soils, where there is a significant quantity of LNAPL and associated soil contamination at the water table, with minimum drawdown and groundwater extraction. The practical maximum depth of liquid recovery is suction lift (27 ft of water column). [Pg.235]

Portable tanks, 1000 liter capacity these are made of mild- or heavy-duty polypropylene with a steel frame. The tanks can be delivered filled in a flat bed truck and are useful for medium-sized precast and cast on site projects. A crane or a fork lift truck is usually use to handle these tanks on site. [Pg.545]
