Anti-vibration tool holders (HM). Heavy metal is an excellent material for damping torsional vibrations. Tools with longer shafts are typical applications. Examples are turning shanks, boring bars, endmills, grinding quills, pinion type cutter supports, etc. (Fig. 7.20).
