Mechanical and electrical engineering staff

There were few departmental differences in the type of accidents mentioned. The only difference of note was predictable, namely that civil engineering staff were more likely, and mechanical and electrical engineering staff were markedly less likely, to refer to track-related injuries than other groups. Nor were there any major differences among the responses of various grades of staff. It was notable that many of the major injuries which feature in the overall accident... 

Mechanical and electrical engineering staff were again the most likely to admit to non-compliance and signals and telecommunications and civil engineering workers the least likely. However, even in these groups the majority admitted to non-compliance. 

Operations and mechanical and electrical engineering staff were most likely to regard it as costly and civil engineering and especially signals and telecommunications staff were the least likely to regard it as such.
