The STIR option—being a call in this example— will only be worth exercising if the futures price rises above the strike price of 97.750. If, for example, the option is exercised when the June 2003 contract is trading at 98.000, the investor s margin account would be credited with 625 upon exercise. 

Increased price competition as patents expire this will force some suppliers to accept lower margins and/or to segment their customer base and concede lower margin accounts to selected competitors.

Note Account must be taken of the margin necessary between the maximum system operating temperature and saturation temperature at the system operating pressure.
