Manufacturing studies

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved several electrical bone growth stimulators, primarily for fractures at the middle of long bones, such as a tibia (shinbone) that has not healed in at least nine months. Also, the mechanisms of healing may not be understood completely manufacturers studies have shown that the device did, in fact, affect cellular processes. 

Upstate New York Capacitor Manufacturers Study. This study comprised women workers of two facilities of the same company located in adjacent communities in upstate New York that manufactured capacitors using PCBs with Aroclors 1254,1242, and 1016 as their primary dielectric fluid (Taylor et al. 1984). Birth certificates for pregnancies between 1958 and 1975 were used to obtain information on birth weight, maternal age, parity, year of birth, race, sex, and date of the last menses. The high-exposure workers were directly exposed to Aroclors during the manufacturing process for at least 1 year prior to birth of the infant the workers with low exposure were employed in areas where Aroclors were not used directly.

The hulls are part of a full-scale comparative manufacturing study. Structural stiffness, weight, manufacturing time, and production cost will be assessed for each produced item. A laboratory study of specific structural performance for the different laminates will complete the comparison. 

But what could be done to improve the supply chain The manufacturer studied the source of the costs and decided that the problem was the one-size-fits-all approach implied by the original supply chain. Because all products followed the same path in going from the manufacturer to the customer, the associated supply was not matched to demand patterns.

Pilot design and manufacturing studies have been carried out on nested tubes and tube-ln-shell type assemblies, but the immediate aim will be to fully exploit the rod cluster before turning to serious assessment of such major changes which currently show no obvious advantage. 

The ongoing R D program includes experimental verification of components performance (eg, the main coolant pipe), fuel testing, transient and safety analyses, manufacturability studies, and cost optimization. The constmction of a pilot fuel plant for the BREST-OD-300 has started in April 2014 at Siberian Chemical Combine in Tomsk. The plant is scheduled to begin operating in 2017, in time to produce the first fuel load by 2020. A reprocessing facility at the same site is expected to come online in 2022. 

The purpose of a manufacturability study would have been to determine the feasibility of acquiring and assembling the hot leg piping. Manufacturability issues for the internally insulated nickel superalloy hot leg piping include material availability, piping assembly, and component interfaces which include insulation containment and issues associated with joining the hot leg piping to both the turbine inlet and reactor pressure vessel outlet. 

Cerium(IV) is a strong oxidising agent and, as such, it has a number of chemical applications as an oxidant. In studying the hydrolysis of cerium(IV), a number of studies have utilised oxidation-reduction reactions in determining the relevant stability constants. As a tetravalent cation with a relatively small ionic radius, the hydrolysis of cerium(IV) occurs at very low pH. Consequently, data have been provided that show that the metal ion is extensively hydrolysed even at a pH of around 0 (i.e. Imoll" H" ) (Baes and Mesmer, 1976). Cerium(IV) is used as an analogue for plutonium(IV) in nuclear fuel manufacturing studies.
