Mandelin s test

Test 2 Mandelin s Test Dissolve 0.5 g of ammonium vanadate in 1.5 mL of water and dilute to 100 mL with sulfuric acid. Filter the solution through glass wool. Add a drop of the reagent to the primaquine phosphate sample on a white tile. A orange — violet color is produced [2]. 

Certain of the tests described here may be carried out by the micro technique (E. G. C. Clarke and M. Williams, J. Pharm. Pharmac., 1955, 7, 255-262). This applies particularly to Mandelin s Test, Marquis Test, and the Sulphuric Acid test. Where an extraction procedure has been carried out with the production of acidic and basic fractions (see p. 11), the tests below may be applied to the evaporated extracts.
