Looking at the index

A good look at the index of this book indicates the items commonly encountered in examinations. The index is an exhaustive one and is divided into proprietary names, generic names, subject areas and conditions. A self-assessment exercise is to check that you have adequate knowledge of examples of the topics listed above and then attempt the tests. A review of the drugs in the index provides examples of medicines that certainly need attention. You should be familiar with the action, classification, side-effects, clinically significant drug interactions, contraindications and cautions of a number of classes of drugs, such as ... [Pg.463]

I ve already answered this but I suppose the only bit to add is how I ll choose what to read once I have got hold of the books on the reading list for this course. I shall be really careful to check the index because once I just went for the chapter that looked as if it was the most relevant. I missed another reaUy important part of the book because I was in a rush, and couldn t be bothered to go and plough through the index and look up aU the references for the subject I was writing the essay about. Because of that I missed an important bit in my essay and got a really bad mark for it. It meant that I missed out a whole lot of important ideas because they were not in the chapter I had been looking at. The laminate construction in FRP parts can have an effect on flame spread and smoke test results. A study was conducted by Stevens15 and published in the proceedings of Composites 2007 conference. This study looked at how glass fiber content and panel thickness affected the ASTM E-84 flame spread index (FSI) and smoke developed index (SDI). The effects of fiber content and thickness on cone calorimeter results were also evaluated. Another study was conducted by Dempsey16 looking at the effect of glass content in several fire tests, and in this paper, he also found a correlation between the FR performance and glass content. [Pg.709]

Let s first look at the problem in an oversimplified manner. We can introduce additional molecules into a container holding a gas and change the number of molecules per unit volume (N/V) significantly. A liquid is not very compressible, however, by which we mean that adding molecules to a liquid (at constant pressure) simply changes the total volume, but not N/V, or the concentration of molecules.
