Longer wear

Fabricated Sprockets can be fabricated from machined parts such as hubs, webs, and rings. The actual material used in their constmction is determined by the specific application. The teeth on most of the fabricated sprockets are hardened after the machining process to provide longer wear life. 

Brass, bronze, steel, phenolic, acetal, and nylon (natural) had been used with various degrees of success. A specially formulated cast polyamide was recommended, tested, and designed into the function. The part is currently offering a longer wear life, with less moisture pick-up and greater ease of installation. 

CLOTHING — Many more man-made, fibers will be added to those we use today — fibers with longer wear fabrics that are cool in summer, warm in winter, easy to keep clean. 

My symptoms were painful eyes, numbness in my bottom lip, shortness of breath and weight loss. When I also became sensitive to my mattress and could no longer wear my clothes, the situation became unlivable. In July 2005, it turned out from testing that I also had a serious intolerance to pesticides on food and to various food products. 

The first step in achieving longer wear is to replace throwaway items by reusable ones. Even the reusable ones will wear out eventually. If the process is understood, it may be possible to intervene by altering the design or manner of use so that a longer service life is obtained.

The crown area of the tire, which includes the tread and belts, accounts for approximately 75% of the radial passenger tire rolling resistance. Improvements in the hysteretic properties of the tread compound will therefore enable a reduction in tire rolling resistance and consequent improvements in vehicle fuel economy. The crown area and particularly the tread compound also affect the life cycle of the tire. Longer-wearing tires (including retreading) delay the point in time when used tires must enter the solid waste disposal system.
