Circuitry of voltage inverts (i.e., NOT gates) based on different logic architectures, (a) A unipolar voltage inverter, (b) a complementary logic inverter, and (c) a complementary-Hke voltage inverter. [Pg.423]

Figure 4.4 illustrates a logical inverter (NOT) circuit using a bipolar transistor. The source voltage Vcc and the collector resistance are assumed to be 5 V and 4.7 kQ, respectively. [Pg.345]

Current only flows in the CMOS inverter when the load capacitor is being charged or discharged. No current flows to maintain a logic level (0 0 V, 1 5 V). Because power is dissipated only when current flows, the amount of power dissipation in a CMOS circuit is proportional to circuit... [Pg.353]

The average prices of the batch centrifuge are shown in Fig. 18-154. All the models include the drive motor and control. In Fig. 18-154, the inverting filter, horizontal peeler, and the advanced vertical peeler are the premium baskets especially used for specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Control versatility with the use of programmable logic control (PLC), automation, and cake-heel removal are the key features which are responsible for the higher price. The underdriven, top-driven, and pendulum baskets are less expensive with fewer features. [Pg.1743]

Let us now invert the logic and define the Casimir energy as the energy resulting from the geometry-dependent part of the density of states (d.o.s.) - a concept that is closely related to the shell correction energy in nuclear physics ... [Pg.234]

Simple digital systems are assembled from well-known libraries of parts combinational logic gates (and, or, inverters, tri-state buffers) storage elements (flip-flops, registers, RAM) synchronization parts (clocks, dividers). From these parts are assembled a huge variety of systems, but all of them can be understood in terms of these basic parts. [Pg.515]

Instead of putting the desiccant inside the dish, with a controlled humidity outside, the dish could contain water which is then transmitted out into a dry atmosphere and the amount transmitted measured by weight loss. By inverting the container, the transmission rate when the water is in contact with the test piece can also be measured. The transmission rates measured by the various alternative procedures will be different because different vapour pressure gradients across the test piece are being used and, logically, the conditions most relevant to service would be chosen. [Pg.358]

A key performance indicator of an inverter is the switching speed the sum of the pull-down delay and the pull-up delay. In Vgs = 0 logic the switching speed is inherently low. The switching speed is determined by pull-down delay as the low pull-down current provided by the load is much smaller than the transient pull-up current provided by the driver. [Pg.338]

Modern frequency converters now make it possible to handle smaller automation tasks via the motor drive alone. Here, the controller intended for controlling the inverter assumes monitoring and control tasks that it can communicate externally via the available (or expandable) I/O. Moreover, it is also possible to connect various bus systems. Sometimes the functioning of small programmable logic controls can be integrated into the inverter. Parameters and control function programming can be entered via a small user interface. It may be even more convenient to connect to a laptop with an RS 232 interface. [Pg.324]
