The residue produced from the 350°C run contained discernible resinite particles. In contrast, examination of the fluorescence of residues from the two 370° runs in blue light showed that little resinite was left undissolved other than that incorporated within a matrix of other macerals. Instead, a diffuse fluorescence had been imparted to the epoxy resin embedding medium. Presumably, the epoxy was able to dissolve some of the liquefied resin remaining after extraction with ethyl acetate. In the residue from the run at 400°C, only one discrete resinite particle was observed among the many coal particles embedded in the epoxy polymer. It appears that in a short time at 350°, most, but not all, of the resinite undergoes liquefaction. All other material in the sample needs considerably more severe treatment. [Pg.29]

Morphology. Observations with the light microscope, under polarized light, showed that the end blocks in the case of both types of polymers crystallized in the form of the usual spheru-lites, but not as well as the analogous homopolymer, H2-l,4-polybutadiene. We note that since Q involves the scattering coefficients, the radiation pressure force has resonance or near-resonance behavior. This first was observed and analyzed by Ashkin and Dziedzic (1977) in their study of microparticle levitation by radiation pressure. They made additional measurements (Ashkin and Dziedzic, 1981) of the laser power required to levitate a microdroplet, and Fig. 19 presents their data for a silicone droplet. Mullen et al. in 2008 reported the successful use of graphene films (TGF) as transparent electrodes (anodes) in BHJ solar cells composed of P3HT and PCBM as the active layer (see Fig. 34) [258]. The cell conversion efficiency under low intensity monochromatic light showed the same values as the ITO electrode (1.5%) and under simulated solar light the values were lower (0.29%) compared to the obtained values for ITO (1.17%) under the same conditions.
