Lifting mechanics

The end of field life is often determined by the lowest reservoir pressure which can still overcome all the pressure drops described and provide production to the stock tank. As the reservoir pressure approaches this level, the abandonment conditions may be postponed by reducing some of the pressure drops, either by changing the choke and separator pressure drops as mentioned, or by introducing some form of artificial lift mechanism, as discussed in Section 9.7. [Pg.226]

Rake-Lifting Mechanisms These should be provided when abnormal thickener operation is probable. Abnormal thickener operation or excessive torque may result from insufficient underflow pumping, surges in the solids feed rate, excessive amounts of large particles, sloughing of solids accumulated between the rakes and the bottom of... [Pg.1686]

The construction of multicylinder machines gives the opportunity to change the working swept volume by taking cylinders out of service with valve-lifting mechanisms. The ring plate suction valve which is located at the crown of a loose liner can be lifted by various... [Pg.40]

(6) the position of the sample holder during deposition. (7) the position of the sample holder when loaded, and (8) the lift mechanism. [Pg.24]

More recently, a system using greaseless valves and a magnetic lifting mechanism was used (135), but no differences were found in the behavior of solids activated in either type of reactor. The activation procedure consists in the evacuation (10 s Torr) of the system at the position L at 430°C for 8 h ... [Pg.51]

The machine is fed by two laborers, the first of whom places a fish under a stationary knife, against which it is lifted mechanically. The second laborer thrusts the beheaded fish into a slot, of which there are a number on the peripheral rim of the wheel, tail first, so that it becomes wedged and is field firmly. It thus is lifted and carried around, belly outward, by the wheel, and is brought successively against the knives and brushes. Abundant jets of water are made to play upon the fish as it passes through the machine. [Pg.286]

Hand-operated forklift tracks have two forks that can be inserted by the worker into proper openings of a pallet. Through a lifting mechanism, the pallet can be elevated from the ground (about 10-15 cm) in order to move it. Once the pallet has been positioned, the forks can be lowered and the pallet is placed down onto the ground. [Pg.846]

A lifting mechanism mounted on the top of the reactor structure raises or lowers the curtain as desired. After removing the concrete and steel shielding at the bottom of the curtain slot, the curtain can. be lowered into the canal and a new curtain installed if necessary. [Pg.79]

Provisions have also been made for installation of a curtain on the west side of the thermal shield at the. face of the shielding facility however, no curtain or lifting mechanism will be furnished initially. [Pg.79]
