Non-oligomeric and air- or moisture-sensitive chemistries such as cycloadditions, cyclizations, and carbanion condensations have already been successfully enabled on solid support, and some recent examples are discussed below. It is anticipated that these studies will be further extended in combinatorial formats and libraries subjected to HTS in the near future.

Unfortunately, some sites provide a lot of information but do not offer a search function. 

While the principal value of the book is for the professional chemist or student of chemistry, it should also be of value to many people not especially educated as chemists. Workers in the natural sciences—physicists, mineralogists, biologists, pharmacists, engineers, patent attorneys, and librarians—are often called upon to solve problems dealing with the properties of chemical products or materials of construction. Eor such needs this compilation supplies helpful information and will serve not only as an economical substitute for the costly accumulation of a large library of monographs on specialized subjects, but also as a means of conserving the time required to search for... 

The following journals are either devoted entirely to articles on mass spectrometry or contain significant numbers of papers on the subject. They are obtainable through direct subscription or through library systems. 

Nepeta (Lamiaceae) is a genus of perennial or annual herbs found in Asia, Europe and North Africa. About 250 species of Nepeta are reported of which, 67 species are present in Iran. Some species of this genus are important medicinal plants and their extracts have been used for medicinal purposes. Aerial parts of Nepeta sintenisii Bornm. was subjected to hydrodistillation and the chemical composition of isolated essential oil has been analyzed by GC/MS method for first time. Identification of components of the volatile oil was based on retention indices relative to n-alkanes and computer matching with the Wiley275.L library, as well as by comparison of the fragmentation patterns of the mass spectra with those reported in the literature. 

However, the use of a HPLC separation step enabled a remarkable acceleration of the deconvolution process. Instead of preparing all of the sublibraries, the c(Arg-Lys-O-Pro-O-P-Ala) library was fractionated on a semipreparative HPLC column and three fractions as shown in Fig. 3-2 were collected and subjected to amino acid analysis. According to the analysis, the least hydrophobic fraction, which eluted first, did not contain peptides that included valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tyrosine, and phenylalanine residues and also did not exhibit any separation ability for the tested racemic amino acid derivatives (Table 3-1). 

The day that Wolfram s article appeared at ITP s library is forever etched in my mind as one of those proverbial milestone events in one s life. Rapra Review Reports comprise a unique source of polymer-related information with useful overviews accompanied by abstracts from hundreds of relevant documents. A Rapra Review Report is an excellent starting point to improve subject knowledge in key areas. Subscribers to this series build up a bank of information over each year, forming a small Ubrary at a very reasonable price. This series would be an asset to corporate libraries, academic institutions and research associations with an interest in polymer science. 

Information on laboratory safety is available from many places. The public library usually has material on federal, state, and local safety regulations. The Index to Books in Print, also available at libraries, lists all material published by subject, author, and title. Scientific book publishers will be glad to add new names to their mailing lists for announcements of new publications on safety.

Haber was slow to grasp the implications of the Nazis rise to power. As Germans boycotted Jewish businesses and Hitler s brownshirts removed Jewish students from university libraries and laboratories, the Nazis passed a law on April 7, 1933, to cleanse the civil service and universities of Jews. By this time, Haber s Kaiser Wilhelm Institute was financed by the government and its employees were treated as civil functionaries subject to the new law. Haber himself was exempt because of war work and seniority. Eager for a chemical warfare center, Nazi authorities singled out Haber s institute and ordered him to fire its Jews. At the same time, the Kaiser Wilhelm Society told Haber to somehow keep his important senior scientists. He had until May 2 to act.
