To investigate the relation between SME, CNT dispersion, CNT length, and electrical properties of melt mixed composites in a more detailed way, three studies on composites based on PCL and different PCs were performed. 

Co-continuous polymer blends of 50/50 polyamide6/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (PA6/ABS) involving multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared by melt mixing technique in order to develop conducting composites utilizing the concept of double-percolation. The significant effect of shortening has been possibly underestimated so far in research on the properties of melt mixed CNT-based composites and should be taken into consideration in further studies on that topic. This was certainly due—in part—to the difficulties to measure the length after processing. However, the presented study clearly shows a way to measure the length as the importance to consider this quantity. 

The best compositions are prepared when the surface energies of the rubber and plastic material are matched, when the entanglement molecular length of the rubber molecule is small, and when the plastic material is crystalline. It is also necessary that neither the plastic nor the rubber decompose in the presence of the other at temperatures required for melt-mixing. Also, in each case, a curing system appropriate for the rubber under the conditions of melt-mixing is required. 

Melt mixing and solution mixing methods were used to prepare short pineapple leaf fiber-LDPE composites. Effects of fiber length, content, and orientation on the mechanical properties have been studied. The mechanical properties were improved while the elongation at break was found to be reduced.
