Bertille Seyve, pere (1864-1939). Bertille Seyve was from the Isbre Department. He used many of Seibel s early hybrids as parents. The only cultivars from his programme that remain of interest are Le Commandant (BS 2862 S. 822 x S.872) and Le General (BS 5563 S.6905 x S.3445). Both of these were grown commercially in Ontario but did not see wide distribution. [Pg.71]

The three general states of monolayers are illustrated in the pressure-area isotherm in Fig. IV-16. A low-pressure gas phase, G, condenses to a liquid phase termed the /i uid-expanded (LE or L ) phase by Adam [183] and Harkins [9]. One or more of several more dense, liquid-condensed phase (LC) exist at higher pressures and lower temperatures. A solid phase (S) exists at high pressures and densities. We briefly describe these phases and their characteristic features and transitions several useful articles provide a more detailed description [184-187]. [Pg.131]

The most important rechargeable lithium batteries are those using a soHd positive electrode within which the lithium ion is capable of intercalating. These intercalation, or insertion, electrodes function by allowing the interstitial introduction of the LE ion into a host lattice (16,17). The general reaction can be represented by the equation ... [Pg.582]

Experiment diffusion coefficients are scarce and not highly accurate, especially in the liquid phase, leading to prediction methods with marginal accuracy. However, use of the v ues predicted are generally suit le for engineering calculations. At concentrations above about 10 mole percent, predicted values should be used with caution. Diffu-sivities in liquids are lO -lO times lower than those in gases. [Pg.414]
