Layer resin

Sand has been treated with oil-soluble organosilicon compounds to form a hydrophobic proppant (77). A double layer resin coating has also been developed. The inner layer coating the sand particle is a cured gamma-aminopropyltriethoxvsilane - hexamethylenetetramine. The outer layer is an uncured mixture of the same two chemicals which cures within the fracture to form a consolidated permeable mass holding the fracture open (78). [Pg.18]

Quantitative and qualitative methods were developed to measure the surface mechanical properties of polymers by atomic force microscopies. They were used to study the effects of molding processes and of viscosity on the surface morphology of polypropylene / (ethylene-propylene) copolymer blends (PP/EP). On compression-molded "physical blends", EP nodules are present at the outermost surface while, on injection-molded "reactor blends", they are covered by a PP layer. Resins with high viscosity ratio between EP and PP present heterogeneous surface elastic properties corresponding to the dispersion of spherical EP nodules below the surface. The low viscosity ratio resins have homogeneous surface elastic properties comparable to those measured above EP nodules on high viscosity ratio resins. This is compatible with a fine dispersion of plate-like shaped EP nodules below the surface... [Pg.304]

Two basic composite designs for the functional layer of roll covers are used in the paper industry Composite covers with a fiber reinforced functional layer and composite covers with a cast functional layer (resin covers). [Pg.238]

Heat sealing process optimization requires the proper specification and selection of sealing equipment, operating conditions, film properties and post-treatments, sealant layer resins and compositions, and resin additive packages. The utility of HEATSEAL will be demonstrated using three case studies to illustrate the simulation s application to heat sealing issues of commercial interest. These case studies are described as follows ... [Pg.2547]
