Laundry cellulases

In the mid eighties a totally new and revolutionary enzyme product was marketed by Novo Nordisk (at that time Novo Industri) this time a cellulase named as CelluzymeTM. This enzyme possesses not only the capacity to remove stains, it also has laundry-... [Pg.77]

A typical enzymatic stone-washing process (76) is as follows load garments into industrial laundry machine, add water, and heat to 50—60°C. Adjust pH to 6.0 with acetic acid or buffer. Desize garment with a-amylase for 10—15 min, and drain water. Add new water, heat to 55—60°C, adjust pH to 6.5—7.0, and add cellulase. Tumble for 20—90 min, drain, rinse twice, and dry. [Pg.299]

Biopolishing with cellulase is analogous to the use of cellulase in household laundry detergent. The enzyme removes pills from the fabric, restoring its appearance and conditioning it for resistance to further pilling [14]. [Pg.46]

Celiuzyme . [Novo Nordisk] Cellulase enzyme for laundry detergents and additives. [Pg.69]

Enzymes are used as ingredients in laundry and dishwashing detergents to improve their efficiency. Their functional efficiency depends on the detergent s components, type of stain to be removed, water temperature, and hardness. Major enzymes used for this purpose are proteases, amylases, lipases, and cellulases. Proteases, which are the most widely used enzymes in the detergent industry, enhance the breakdown... [Pg.10]

Bacterial cellulases have applications in agricultural and industrial processes, including laundry and detergents, textile, food and animal feed, pulp and paper, and biofuel industries... [Pg.223]
