The basic system includes the controller with user memory, robot, a general-purpose hand, and the capacity for six laboratory stations. These approaches will find further use as they are applied to varying sample types. Further details of robotic systems are discussed in Chapter 6. The continuing series of automation conferences organized by the Zymark Corporation provide a ready access to the latest advances in robotic technology. [Pg.137]

The sample is transferred through a stainless steel cannula connected to a Teflon holding loop and Master Laboratory Station (MLS). [Pg.178]

The system is based on an XP Zymate laboratory robot controlled with a 10 slot System V controller using software version XP VI.S2. The system incorporates commerdaUy available hardware, as well as custom hardware. A schematic diagram of the system is shown in Fig. 6.11. The robotic arm and the peripheral laboratory stations that the robotic arm interacts with to perform the appHcation are positioned in a circular configuration. The GC/MS is located adjacent to the bench top, such that the injection valve is close to the sipper station. Peripheral items of hardware with which the robotic arm does not directly interact with are outside the working envelope. [Pg.189]

The XAS spectra of the Pt/LTL and Pt/K-Si02 samples were taken at the SRS laboratories (station 9.2) in Daresbury, UK, the spectra of the Pt/Cl-Al203 samples were taken at the ESRF (BM 29) in Grenoble, France and at the HASYLAB (XI. 1) in Hamburg, Germany. These measurements were done in transmission mode using ion chambers filled with Ar to have an... [Pg.128]

A master laboratory station (MLS) is a module consisting of three syringes for dispensing liquids in conjunction with the dissolve and dilute module. However, the MLS can be used for additional purposes such as aspirating the phases involved in a liquid-liquid extraction (using a different syringe for each phase) [8]. [Pg.508]
