Knowledge Philosophy

It is perhaps appropriate that the old premises of the Department of Colloid Science are now occupied by the Department of the History and Philosophy of Science. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been another department of colloid science anywhere in the academic world. 

The separate parts in the school chemistry textbooks are accompanied by student-exercises that mainly aim to train the students ability to reproduce the chemical knowledge presented. It takes quite a large number of chemistry lessons before a student will come to a point where the new chemical knowledge may be related to society and the everyday world. Only some students start to ask about nitrates and environmental problems while climbing the ladder. Mary never make such a coimection. According to the common ciuriculum philosophy that students first need to climb the ladder , it takes a long climb for students to see the relevance to societal themes in fact it is impossible within the (time) limits of the school chemistry curriculum. 

Evaluation of the efficiency of the LON approach based on a systematic collection and analysis of the (1) results of the Test of Gained Knowledge and (2) teachers comments in the reflective diaries describing their feeling about the difference between the new teaching philosophy as compared with the existing one. 

It is the central part of modern Dialectics - the soul of all knowledge which is truly scientific - as taught by Hegel Encyclopaedia of the philosophical scienceSi 1830) and Engels [Dialectics of nature, 1879). And, to go back in time even further, combined opposites - Yin and Yang - are central to old Chinese philosophy and ancient popular wisdom. 

Two different approaehes to this problem will be described in this work. They are based in quite different philosophies, but both are aimed at determining the RDM without a previous knowledge of the WF. Another common feature of these two approaches is that they both employ the discrete Matrix representation of the Contraction Mapping (MCM) [17,18]. Applying this MCM is the alternative, in discrete form, to integrating with respect to a set of electron variables and it is a much simpler tool to use.
