KIT-6 silica template was removed from the resulting solids by leaching twice with 2 M NaOH (Merck) at 50°C, while mixing the suspension on the magnetic stirrer. [Pg.246]

Zhao[266] demonstrated the successful synthesis of highly ordered mesoporous silicon carbides with unusually high surface areas (430-720 m2/g), uniform pore sizes (<3.5 nm), and extremely high thermal stabilities (up to 1400 °C) replicated by mesoporous silica hard templates via a one-step nanocasting process. Highly ordered 2-D hexagonal (p6m) and bicontinuous cubic (Ia3d) SiC nanowire arrays have been cast from the hard templates, mesoporous silica SBA-15 and KIT-6, respectively. [Pg.572]

Mesoporous silica KlT-6 was obtained following the procedure described previously. Pore volume of the as-synthesized KIT-6 is 1.2 cmVg. [Pg.86]

Tsoncheva, T., Ivanova, L., Rosenholm, J., and Linden, M. (2009) Co oxide species supported on SBA-15, KIT-15 and KIT-6 mesoporous silicas for ethyl acetate oxidation. Appl Catal B Environ., 89 (3-4), 365-374. [Pg.498]

At the time of this publication, the Promega silica extraction kit (when bought in bulk) costs about 2 per extraction. Once familiar with the process, each extraction takes about 15 min. [Pg.94]

The overall performance of a catalyst is known to depend not only on the inherent catalytic activity of the active phase but also on the textural properties of the solid. The ability to control the specific surface area and the pore size distribution during the synthesis of amorphous silica-aluminas has been described for both surfactant micelle templated syntheses (M41-S (1), FSM-16 (2), HMS (3), SBA (4), MSU (5), KIT-1 (6)) and cluster templated sol-gel syntheses (MSA (7), ERS-8 (8)). [Pg.625]
