Journals and Periodicals

The abbreviations used in the references for titles of journals and periodicals are those used in BP publications practice and conform closely to the recommendations of the Chemical Abstracts system. Abbreviations which have been used to indicate textbook and reference book sources of information are set out below with the full titles and publication details. 

In view of more than 150 journals and periodicals world wide which publish original papers on polymers, we refrained from listing these even in extracts. We recommend the internet - and Chemical Abstracts (CAS) - services. 

General topics related to modern water research are documented comprehensively in the series Vom Wassef edited by the Society of German Chemists (GdCh). It also contains a list of international journals and periodicals that are published in the field of water science (e. g. Vom Wasser, 1998, 2001). 

With few obvious and self-explanatory modifications the abbreviations used in references to journals and periodicals comprising the extensive literature on organic chemistry, are those used in the World List of Scientific Periodicals.

We are delighted to report that the Institute for Scientific information, Inc. (ISI) rates the Reviews in Computational Chemistry book series in the top ten in the category of general journals and periodicals. The reason for these accomplishments rests firmly on the shoulders of the authors whom we have contacted to provide the pedagogically driven reviews that have made this ongoing book series so popular.
