Subhamoy Maitra received his Bachelor of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering degree in the year 1992 from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Master of Technology in Computer Science in the year 1996 from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He has completed Ph D from Indian Statistical Institute in 2001. Currently he is an Associate Professor at Indian Statistical Institute. His research interest is in Cryptology and Information Security.

Kanishka Biswas received his BSc degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2003. He is a student of the integrated PhD programme of Indian Institute of Science, Bungalore and received his MS degree in 2006. He has worked primarily on the synthesis and characterization of inorganic nanomaterials.

In 1948, there were 101 members and in 1958, 384 by 1978 the membership was over 2800. This enrollment represents about 10% of the 18,000 chemical engineers in India. At present, the country is divided into 18 regional centers (sections) (3). The Institute moved into its own facilities on the Jadavpur University campus in 1973. The Institute was recognized by the AIChE as well as other professional societies in 1958. Publication of the society journal, Indian Chemical Engineers, was started in 1959.

Nabarun Bhattacharyya is Associate Director in Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata, India, which is a premier R D Institute under Department of Information Technology, Government of India. He is a Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has authored more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and two book chapters on the topics electronic nose, electronic vision and electronic tongue. His research areas focus on machine olfaction, soft computing, pattern recognition embedded systems for agricultural and environmental applications. He is a member of IEEE.
