Investigation in Australia

The influence of the constant barrage of Holocaust stories on European, American and Israeli witnesses is demonstrated by Riickerl on the basis of Australian witnesses. Whereas western witnesses can almost always make definite statements on certain complexes of the matter at issue, investigators in Australia usually come away empty-handed. Nobody can quite remember anything any more... 

The stopping distance is also directly related to speed of travel, as well as to factors such as the state of the vehicle s brakes, the friction level of the road surface, and so on. Figure 9.2 shows total stopping distances for a range of starting speeds under assumptions of a reaction time of 1.2 seconds (a typical result from studies of unalerted humans in decision-making experiments), a modem vehicle with brakes in as-new condition, and a dry pavement with a coefficient of friction of 0.8 (a typical result derived from at-scene crash investigations in Australia).

Specific IgE Assay. Two radioimmunoassays are available in France using a quaternary ammonium compoimd coupled to Sepharose [30, 31]. The sensitivity of these tests was equivalent at 88%, the specificity reaches 90%. A morphine-based immunoassay has been proposed in Australia [14]. More recently, Ebo et al. [32] investigated a rocuronium ImmimoCAP and set the sensitivity at 85%, the specificity being absolute, provided an assay-specific decision threshold is applied. After assessing all these factors, there are several possible options for the site location. These include a series of industrial belts within the Perth metropolitan region and three regional centres (Bunbury, Geraldton and Karratha). Overseas investment. Masterfoods, a subsidiary of the US Mars corporation, is investigating the production of certified organic processed sauces and dressings in Australia for sale in the US and Europe. In Ballarat in Victoria, Haku Baku is a joint Australian and Japanese noodle production company manufacturing 20001 of organic noodles per year being shipped directly to Japan. This is one of the first Japanese noodle manufacturing plants anywhere in the world outside Japan. 

Of the four species of Strychnos found in Australia, S. lucida R. Br. was found to contain strychnine (0.1%) and brucine (1.3%) as well as a further 0.5% of unresolved alkaloids (213). An alkaloid, lucidine-S, has been reported from the same source (214), but may be present only in the young plants, as its presence could not be confirmed in the older samples (213). The leaves of S. psilosperma F. Muell. were claimed to contain strychnine, brucine, and strychnicine (214) a later investigation (213) did not confirm this, but resulted in the isolation of two new alkaloids, strychnospermine (0.9%) and spermostrychnine 10.5%).
